I just watched The Summer I Turned Pretty finale and… that was it?
Seriously y’all. We spent all of these years and episodes waiting for a finale that will blow us away. If I’m being honest, though, I’ve been disappointed since the disastrous wedding episode. So, let’s get into all of my thoughts on the finale for The Summer I Turned Pretty below!
Season 3 Finale Blurb
Belly is in Paris, Steven and Taylor have one final thing to fight about, and Jere is doing surprisingly well. Conrad? Well he’s on his way to surprise Belly in Paris, but it may not be the reunion he’s hoping for.

I’m not even going to bother with a non-spoiler review because literally all I want to talk about are the spoilers. SO without further ado, this post will have spoilers for probably the ENTIRE third season for The Summer I Turned Pretty. Please please don’t read any further if you don’t want the season to be spoiled.
Alright, so I want to start with this: why were the last three episodes in this season the MOST BORING EPISODES FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON???? I was honestly so disappointed with how this season turned out. It deviated from the book for these last three episodes and they were the worst episodes of all. The only thing I enjoyed was the last few minutes of the last episode.
With We’ll Always Have Summer, the book basically ends at the wedding. Yes, it leaves a lot to be desired in terms of what happens in the aftermath, but I love a good open ending. This season tried to turn Belly into an adult in three episodes, and while I think it was a valiant effort, it felt more like being dragged along in a slow and steady time lapse when the rest of the season had been a pretty hefty jog. The pacing was like a slap in the face when Belly went to Paris. It wasn’t at all what I signed up for.
I’m sorry for ranting so much, but seriously, was I the only one who felt like this? I was bored. Uninterested. Legitimately all I wanted was to skip to the part where Connie baby and Belly end up together (because there would have been an uproar had they not ended up together). Which, the moment where Connie is swearing to Belly that his love is not built on the grief of losing his mother was gold. Probably my favorite moment in the whole season. It just sucks that it was in the midst of a really boring Paris sequence.
THEN, the little scare we got from Belly? Truly made me think we’d have a “Belly choosing herself” ending. Phew, talk about a mini panic attack.
My second favorite part of this episode? The fact that Taylor’s voicemail is a play on Kim Possible. Ugh. Loved that so much.
Overall, I truly was disappointed with this season and felt like the series deserved better. What did y’all think? Because I genuinely want to know if people loved this season and the long trek it took to get to the ending. Connie baby forever, but dear goodness, they should’ve just followed the books.
