Movie Review: Love Me, Love Me (2026)

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Love Me, Love Me (2026) on Amazon Prime is promised to give all the drama, romance, and a love triangle to top it off. Check out my full review for Love Me, Love Me (2026) below!

Movie Blurb

June (Mia Jenkins) has just moved to Milan with her mother and is trying to adjust to a new school. Making quick friends with Blaze (Michelangelo Vizzini) and Amelia (Andrea Guo), June is introduced to Will (Luca Melucci), a sweet and smart guy that she falls for instantly. June is also told to stay away from James (Pepe Barroso) who is the school’s resident bad boy. June finds herself stuck choosing between the two boys, finding trouble, danger, and a lot more along the way.

Love Me Love Me (2026) Review

Review | Heidi Dischler

Okay, so I was already thinking about what I’d say to you guys about this movie before I even finished watching it. I think my opinion was pretty solidified within the first thirty minutes (take that as you will).

The blurb for this movie had me in a chokehold. I was thinking this might turn out to be another My Fault: London (which I loved), but it ended up being more like a Beautiful Disaster (which I definitely didn’t love as much). Both are romance movies, both promise to have high stakes, but really and truly? Only one of them delivered.

So, this brings me to how I feel about Love Me, Love Me. There were a lot of things that bothered me early on in the movie. First? It seemed like there were some issues with sound-syncing for some of the people who were Italian. I rewatched the scenes several times to make sure it wasn’t just my phone or internet, but these actors’ lips did not match what was coming out of their mouths. That honestly peeved me more than it should have (but completely took me out of the movie if you know what I mean). Another thing was I did NOT find Will (Luca Melucci) attractive or to even have an ounce of chemistry with June (Mia Jenkins). Will’s character was awkward and felt very forced at times. I found the same to be true for June.

That brings me to our actors and actresses. Honestly, I didn’t like Luca Melucci as an actor. It felt like he really wasn’t sure who his character was half the time (between awkward, harboring dark secrets, to being a broken-hearted puppy). That could be in part due to the way his character was written (so maybe he didn’t have a lot to work with), but I just couldn’t wait until his scenes were over. I liked the scenes with James (Pepe Barroso), but still felt like maybe the writers didn’t give enough attention to character development. Mia Jenkins’ character, June, was probably my middle ground between the three. I liked her at times, but other times, the actress felt like she was just doing too much.

Where does that leave my feelings for the movie? Well, lackluster at best. I hate just hating on a movie, but I really didn’t enjoy this as much as I wanted to. The spicy scenes didn’t have enough emotion in them because the chemistry between the characters was lacking. The story as a whole was okay, but not enough was revealed about our MCs for me to even feel invested (which I’m sure all the secrets that were conveniently skirted over will be revealed in the next movie, but at this point, I’m not even sure I want to watch the next one).

Overall, to sum this entire rant up, the characters were underdeveloped, the story was okay, but with the lack of characterization and a lack of chemistry between actors and the actress, I feel like this romance movie is better skipped. You can definitely check it out if you want (I know a lot of people say they loved it), but I LOVED My Fault: London and felt mediocre about Beautiful Disaster, so if you felt the same way about those movies, you’ll probably mirror how I feel about this one.
