My Favorite Binge-Worthy Romantic TV Series
I am seriously into romance, you guys, so it only makes sense for me to share my favorite romantic tv series with you all! All of the shows I’ve listed are ones that I was able to sit down and watch all the way through on my favorite TCL Roku TV (I’m a simple girl and their max 20 button remote is definitely for me 😅). You can ask anyone, when it comes to TV shows, I HATE commitment. So, if I’m able to finish a series all the way through, it’s either a) a one and done season series, or b) REALLY FREAKING GOOD.
I decided to make a list of all of my favorite romantic tv shows that I’ve watched (and rewatched) while swooning for the main characters. These shows have the perfect formulas for beautiful love stories and I can’t wait to share them all with you guys below. So scroll down for the most binge-worthy, romantic tv series you’ll ever watch.
One Tree Hill (2003 - 2012)
A seriously swoon worthy romance with enemies-to-lovers, family drama, ALL of the romance and character development, and honestly, characters to die for. Set in the small town of Tree Hill, two brothers, Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Nathan (James Lafferty) feud due to having the same father, but him not showing up for Lucas and abandoning him. One Tree Hill has been me and my best friend’s obsession for as long as I can remember. We still rewatch it from time to time and we’re way past our high school years….
The Vampire Diaries (2009 - 2016)
Y’all. The OG show that got me into teen drama television. My best friend and I used to get together every Thursday night (when they still released episodes on TV and not streaming platforms 😂) just to enjoy ALL THE DRAMA. When I tell you, you are either firmly team Damon (me), or firmly team Stefan (my best friend).
This show is basically about a girl that two vampire brothers fall in love with and the drama and heart break are never-ending. 100% recommend (even though I haven’t read any of the books).
Queen Charlotte (2023)
A one-and-done season, Queen Charlotte was something I decided to watch because of Bridgerton (and all the books of that series that I ranked and reviewed). While Bridgerton was more of a guilty pleasure for me, Queen Charlotte was pure GOLD. I was so surprised by the depth of the romance in this show and the dang chemistry between the two main characters. Phew. Still takes my breath away.
Anyway, this is basically a spin-off series from Bridgerton about how Queen Charlotte came to be, well, Queen Charlotte.

Hart of Dixie (2011 - 2014)
A series that I seriously didn’t expect to like so much, Hart of Dixie is a romantic tv series that made me laugh more often than not, cry when I didn’t expect to, and smile at how freaking cute it is.
The premise is basically a city doctor moving to a rural town to take over her estranged father’s medical practice. Along the way she becomes friends with the townspeople and finds not one, but TWO men to pine over. If you want a tv show that’s less serious, has a little medical drama in it, and is totally romantic, this is the show for you.
Rain or Shine (2017) (Also called Just Between Lovers)
I don’t think I’ve ever cried as much as I did for Rain or Shine for a tv show. This was one of the first k-dramas (besides Squid Games) that I got into. Best. Decision. Ever. My heart broke with these characters who are both survivors of a building collapse that completely changed their lives.
Romance? On point. Drama? Really on point. Tears? Never ending. Highly recommend this one-season show that will break your heart and just make you believe in love again.

My Lady Jane (2024 - )
This one took me by surprise. I had a stomach bug and ended up staying home for two days. I picked this TV show on a whim and boy was I in for it.
With an arranged marriage, magic, people turning into animals, and a twist on the tale of Lady Jane Grey the “nine day queen”, My Lady Jane is an epic romantasy that will definitely hold your attention. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s based off a book 😉. This is the only series on my list that is also still currently being released!

So, there you go! These TV series are ones I wasn’t able to turn off. Ones that made my eyes tear up, my heart skip a beat, and my whole body just sigh with the romance of it all. There are quite a few, though, that I’ve tried and was never able to get in to. Some them were: Downton Abbey, Gossip Girl, Dawson’s Creek, Outer Banks (season 1 was good, but jeez, after that I just couldn’t), and Grey’s Anatomy (now, this is based off of the series as a whole – if it was just the first five ish seasons, this would be a different story).
When it comes to romance, I am always down (as long as there’s good chemistry and great writing!). I have definitely gotten into k-dramas more in recent years, but leave me some recommendations in the comments of romance series you think I’d enjoy!
