Book Information
Rhys, Az, Cassian, Nesta, Elaine, Feyre, and all of our other favorites are back in this sixth installment of the ACOTAR series.
Other high lords and ladies are planning to storm the human lands to take their “rightful” land back at whatever costs to the humans. Rhys and Feyre won’t stand for it. But others in Prythian find it hard to rally for a war that doesn’t involve them. Other darkness is brewing, though, and Feyre and her family and friends must go to extremes to make sure everyone they love is safe while also fighting for the greater good.

Phew. Okay, that was a whirlwind. The very first chapter is a prologue about Azriel’s time as a child locked up by his father and half-brothers, so I thought that we’d be following Azriel through this book. While you did get a lot of chapters from his POV, you literally get chapters from everyone’s POV. I’m talking Feyre, Cassian, Nesta, Azriel, Mor, Lucien, and even Gwen. We don’t get Elain, though, so just a heads up on that (although, based off what everyone was saying, they didn’t want Elain’s POV anyway ).
So, with the story, Feyre and Rhys are desperately trying to get alliances with the other courts to save the humans because they know it’s the right thing to do. This story does have something that ties into the Crescent City series (which I didn’t read… hehe). It had something to do with Bryce Quinlan but I have no idea what all the lore is, sooo you’ll have to forgive me for that. But her side story that isn’t mentioned in this book causes the rest of the peeps (Rhys, Cas, Az) to lose trust in Nesta. So, that’s a big part of A Court of Splintered Harmony. You even get to see Feyre and Rhys’ little boy and it’s soooo amazing seeing them as parents.
Basically, I really loved this whole book. I felt like this one was just building to what’s coming in January (thank GOODNESS we only have to wait until January), so there wasn’t a lot of forward momentum. It was totally fine, though, because this book was a lot to take in regardless. You do get steamy scenes between Feyre and Rhys, and then some with Nesta and Cassian, and they had a LOT of romantic scenes that literally just melted my heart.
Spoilers ahead.
Soooo, yeah, the end of this book had my head whirling because, wow, a hell of a lot of cliffhangers there. After Bryaxis literally upends everyone’s lives (and tortures poor little Nyx like, guys, I almost sobbed), Nesta winnows to the prison and gets stuck WITHOUT a weapon. Feyre has a plan now about what she wants to do (but doesn’t say it). Az literally wants to run away and is turning superrr dark so I’m nervous to see where his storyline is going. Rhys basically disowned him after Lucien and everyone else caught him almost sleeping with Elain. I’m so glad that Nesta actually yelled at Elain, though, because Az definitely didn’t deserve all of the hostility. It takes two, ya know? Then Elain runs away with Mor to Vallahan because she can’t stand being in the Night Court any longer.
Anywayyy. Was I the only one who felt like Amren led Bryaxis to the naming ceremony? The way she said everything to Nesta before Nesta went to the prison made it feel like it all went according to plan…. But that’s just me.
Overall, I guess we’ll see how all our favorites fare in the next book that comes out in January!! I rated A Court of Splintered Harmony a 4.25 out of 5 and I cannot wait for A Court of Forgotten Melody.
